Two of my greatest joys in life are food and traveling. Mealtime was always a huge part of my childhood growing up in a Sicilian family and I was always by my Grandmother's side helping in the kitchen. My Mom, who grew up in Germany was a huge inspiration and where I got my artistic talents from. Since I was a child she was always painting, drawing and creating amazing pieces of art.
Once I graduated from The Art Institute of Houston, I traveled the world working in a variety of kitchens. My travels included a Coast Guard Icebreaker in the Arctic, McMurdo Station in Antarctica and a fishing camp in Alaska, as well as small specialty bakeries in between.
When I'm not decorating cakes, I love spending time with my hubby and our dog, Coda anywhere outdoors with our friends...camping, hiking and music festivals!
Baked. was created in 2010 with partnering founder Natalie Vorpahl, who played a huge part in the success of where we are today! I currently work with a very small team including my husband.
